The distillery sits in Rothes, in Speyside, and owes its longevity to a light, clean spirit shaped by tall stills and purifiers. Only that delicacy lets whisky reach sixty-five years without turning to tannin and oak char. Expect the hallmarks of very old sherried Glen Grant: stewed apples and orange, beeswax and dark chocolate, polished antique oak and a faint menthol coolness, with the mushroomy rancio that only decades in wood produce.
