Same wine, wrapped for giving. Laurent-Perrier reserves its vintage release for years that genuinely deserve it, and 2007 — a cool, testing season in Champagne — is one the house judged worth bottling on its own. Presented in Laurent-Perrier’s own gift box, it’s a ready-to-give bottle that needs nothing else from you.
Inside the box, the wine is a 50/50 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the house’s Grand Cru vineyards around Tours-sur-Marne, aged seven years on its lees and disgorged in early 2017. That long rest is what gives it such poise.
Expect a light golden pour with a delicate, persistent mousse. The nose is floral first, then citrus — orange and white blossom. On the palate it’s direct and finely balanced: white fruit, fresh orange, a restrained 8g/l dosage that keeps it crisp. The finish turns properly chalky and fans out with real length.
If you’re buying for someone who knows their Champagne — or someone you’d like to impress — this does the job without you having to say a word. Anniversaries, thank-yous, a significant birthday, the retirement of someone who’ll recognise what they’re holding.
How to Serve
Serve at 8–10°C. Reach for a white-wine glass or a wide tulip rather than a flute — it lets the aromas breathe. Ready now and good through to 2028, so there’s no rush if the lucky recipient wants to save it.
Where to Drink It
Scott’s in Mayfair over oysters. J Sheekey for a celebratory seafood supper. The Wolseley for old-school glamour.
Food Pairings
Made for shellfish — oysters, crab, langoustines. Equally at home with roast chicken or a nutty, aged Comté.

Two ingredients, no garnish to hide behind, and nowhere for a mistake to go. The gin or the vodka, the vermouth, the ice, and the small matter of nerve.
