The None Antinori (Pian Vigne), Brunello di Montalcino 2018 - 75cl from House Of Decant arrives from one of Italy's most revered wine regions - a place where ancient tradition and modern rigour converge. Tuscany has a particular kind of magic. Its soils are complex, its hillsides wind across landscape that has barely changed for centuries, and its winemakers understand something fundamental: that wine is not made, merely facilitated. Sangiovese, the region's primary grape, demands patience and respect - it will reward both with wines of extraordinary depth and complexity. This bottle carries that lineage, that understanding.

The bouquet is deep and inviting - ripe dark fruit, warm spice, leather, and earth. On the palate, the wine shows serious structure and concentration. There is real weight here, but not heaviness - the fruit is ripe enough to balance the tannins, which are present and structured but not aggressive or green. Flavours of dark cherry, plum, dried fig, and leather unfold gradually, building toward a finish that lingers and demands your attention. The acidity is integrated, the alcohol warming and rounded. This is a wine for contemplation, for slow sipping, and ideally for pairing with substantial food. It is made for the long haul - built to age, built to develop, built to reward patience. It will develop and improve with age, gaining complexity as the rough edges soften.

How to Serve

Serve at 16 - 18°C - true room temperature, but on the cooler end. Decanting is often beneficial, particularly for younger bottles; pour gently into a decanter 30 - 60 minutes before serving. This allows the wine to open gracefully without harsh oxidation.

Food Pairings

This is a food wine at its deepest heart - made to be enjoyed alongside Italian cooking, preferably Tuscan. Bistecca alla fiorentina, pasta with wild boar ragù, roasted meats, aged hard cheeses - these are its natural companions. It thrives alongside herby preparations and is brilliant with simple, satisfying cooking. This is not a wine for light salads or delicate preparations - it demands substance and spirit on the plate.
