Harrobia is Jade Gross’s first estate-bottled Tempranillo, Rioja with a softly rebellious heart. The grapes come from her La Cantera plot in Labastida, Rioja Alavesa: 36-year-old bush vines planted in clay–limestone soils at around 600 m elevation. Fermentation is done in open vats with indigenous yeasts, and the wine spends 12 months in French oak barrels. On the nose, it offers red and black fruit, sour cherry and wild berry, with floral notes and mineral lift. The palate is firm but graceful: fine-tuned tannins, bright acidity, and a tension between fruit and structure that gives the finish clarity and length. Only 1,790 bottles were made, making Harrobia a rare expression of modern, site-driven Rioja.
