Allegrini La Poja IGT 2016 – 300cl is a prestigious Italian red wine from the Valpolicella region of Veneto, produced by the renowned winery Allegrini. Made from 100% Corvina Veronese grapes, it comes from the small, high-altitude La Poja vineyard, a limestone plateau in Valpolicella that gives the wine exceptional concentration and elegance. The 2016 vintage is deep ruby in colour with complex aromas of black cherry, blackberry, tobacco, liquorice and subtle spice. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured, with refined tannins, rich dark-fruit flavours and a long, balanced finish. The wine is aged for around 20 months in French oak barriques followed by time in large Slavonian oak casks, allowing it to develop depth and ageing potential. Presented in a 300cl double-magnum bottle, this format is favoured by collectors because larger bottles age more slowly and preserve the wine’s freshness and complexity over time
