Evan Williams is Heaven Hill's flagship bourbon, named after the man said to have opened Kentucky's first commercial distillery in 1783. This Extra Aged bottling is the black-label expression — a Kentucky straight bourbon given a few more years in oak than the entry pours, and priced like it wants to be your everyday bottle.
Made from a corn-led mash bill with a nod of rye and aged in charred new American oak, it comes from one of the largest family-owned distillers in the US. Evan Williams is the bottle that keeps the lights on — dependable, well-made and honest value.
The nose is classic bourbon: vanilla, caramel and brown sugar, with toasted oak behind. The palate carries that through, adding a touch of mint and baking spice, all rounded and easygoing. At 43% it's smooth, with a medium, warming finish.
