There's a reason that yellow label is one of the most recognised symbols in the drinks world. It doesn't need explanation, introduction, or justification — it just needs an ice bucket and a reason. And honestly, the reason is optional.

Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772, but the house really became itself when Barbe-Nicole Clicquot took the reins in 1805 at just twenty-seven, widowed and fearless. Madame Clicquot — the veuve, the widow — essentially invented modern champagne as we know it. She pioneered riddling, the technique that turns cloudy wine into something crystalline and brilliant. Every champagne you've ever drunk owes her a debt. This bottle, in its trademark yellow, is her legacy in a glass.

Yellow Label is built on Pinot Noir — roughly 50–55% of the blend — which gives it that characteristic warmth and structure that sets it apart from lighter, Chardonnay-led champagnes. The colour is a confident gold. The bubbles are fine and persistent, streaming upward in neat, determined lines. And the nose — biscuit, vanilla, ripe stone fruit — has a generosity that feels almost extravagant for an NV champagne.

On the palate, there's brioche crust and baked apple up front, then a ripple of toasty warmth through the mid-palate, finishing with enough freshness to keep you reaching for the glass. It's champagne that doesn't whisper — it arrives, fills the room, and makes everything feel slightly more celebratory.

How to Serve

Chill to 8–10°C. Straight from the fridge is fine; thirty minutes in an ice bucket is better. A wide tulip glass will let the aromatics bloom, though nobody ever complained about a classic flute at a party.

Food Pairings

Yellow Label is one of the great all-rounders. It's brilliant with canapés — smoked salmon blinis, gougères, anything involving parmesan — and holds its own alongside white fish, soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert, and shellfish. It's also, quietly, one of the best brunch champagnes in existence. Eggs Benedict and Veuve Clicquot is a combination that should be prescribed.

Case Pricing

We offer case discounts on Veuve Clicquot — buying 6, or 12 bottles brings the per-bottle price down meaningfully. If you're stocking up for a wedding, a summer of garden parties, or simply because a fridge without champagne feels incomplete, the case deal is the way to go.
