Rosé, Lady A 2025 75cl
Provence rosé at under £20 that still tastes like Provence rosé is harder to find than it should be. Lady A manages it, delivering the pale, dry, whisper-soft style the region made famous without the premium the fashionable labels now command.
This comes from Provence in the south of France, where warm days, cooling coastal breezes and long sunshine ripen the fruit while keeping the wine crisp. The blend leans on Grenache Noir for its gentle red-fruit generosity, with Syrah adding a savoury lift and Caladoc, a modern southern-French crossing, contributing colour and freshness. The 2025 is a wine built for early, thirsty drinking.
The colour is that classic pale salmon-pink. On the nose you get fresh strawberry, white peach and a little citrus blossom, clean and inviting. The palate is dry and light-bodied, with soft red-berry fruit, a brush of herbs and a bright, refreshing finish. There is nothing complicated here, and that is exactly the point.
At under £18 this is honest, well-made everyday rosé that punches at its price rather than above it. Drink it young and cold through spring and summer, ideally within the year, while its freshness is at full tilt. It is the bottle you keep in the door of the fridge for whenever the sun appears.
