Open House: Beginners guide to whisky investment

£0.00

Whisky investment gets discussed badly. It is either a guaranteed goldmine or an outright scam, depending on who is talking — and it is neither.

This is a free evening for anyone who has watched cask and bottle prices climb over the last decade, wondered whether there is something in it, and would like a straight answer before parting with any money.

We will cover what actually moves the value of a bottle — closed distilleries, age, provenance, condition, and how genuinely limited a “limited release” really is — and where casks differ from bottles entirely. Then the parts that rarely make the headlines: storage and insurance, duty and bottling costs, broker fees, and the awkward question of how you actually sell the thing when you want your money back.

No pitch. Nothing to sign. We are not selling casks and we will not be telling you what to buy. If you leave having decided whisky investment is not for you, we will count that as the evening working properly.

Come with questions. The more sceptical the better.

Free to attend, fifty places.
