Federico Graziani, Mareneve, Terre Siciliane IGT 2020 Case of 6
Mareneve is the daring result of planting vineyards at dizzying heights to test how cold-climate grapes fare on high-altitude volcanic soil. It's a lively reflection of society itself—ever evolving and vibrant. This audacious wine blends Carricante, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Chenin Blanc, and Grecanico, all fermenting naturally with indigenous yeasts, and skipping malolactic fermentation to keep things crisp. Aged 12 months on fine lees in stainless steel and another 6 in the bottle, Mareneve gleams with a brilliant white hue tinged with green. It bursts with tropical aromas of pineapple, white peach, and lychee, touched by white musk, rose, lemon ice, and a hint of lava stone and salt. Each sip offers a symphony of freshness, elegance, and a lingering saline note, much like the merging of fresh snow and Mediterranean salinity.
