The Dalmore King Alexander III
Regal, unapologetic, and impeccably well-travelled. The Dalmore King Alexander III is not so much a single malt as a well-cut dinner jacket with a passport full of stamps. Finished in six different cask types, from Sherry to Port to Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s a whisky that layers richness the way a great host layers a menu. Expect dark cherries, orange peel, polished wood and spiced chocolate on the nose; on the palate, plum compote, espresso, treacle and a warm echo of Christmas cake. Everything is plush, controlled, and quietly confident. The finish lingers, long, spiced, and gently aristocratic. This is a bottle for making an entrance, ending a dinner, or giving a gift that says I thought about this. Less instruction manual, more velvet armchair. A whisky with presence, poise, and excellent manners.
