This collection offers a unique opportunity to taste single malts distilled in consecutive years from the renowned Ben Nevis distillery. The whiskies were filled into tex-bourbon hogshead casks over a consecutive three year period. The releases highlight the uniqueness of each individual cask and the influence it can have on whisky throughout the years of maturation. Each cask may have experienced slightly different temperatures or be slightly more reactive. While all releases are distinctly Ben Nevis in their profile, we found this to be the case with our Ben Nevis 1999, which when compared to the 1998 & 2000 has a more distinctly earthy and heavy composition. It is also noticeably darker than the other two releases. It’s the individuality of each single cask that inspires our excitement in bringing these whiskies to market.
