Allegrini La Poja IGT 2016 – 600cl is an exceptional Italian red wine from the Valpolicella region of Veneto, produced by the renowned Allegrini estate. Made from 100% Corvina Veronese grapes, it comes from the small La Poja vineyard, a limestone plateau overlooking the hills of Valpolicella, where the reflective white soils help the grapes reach ideal ripeness and concentration. The 2016 vintage shows a deep ruby colour with complex aromas of cassis, cherry, spices, tobacco and subtle floral notes, while the palate is full-bodied, elegant and structured, with refined tannins and a long, lingering finish. The wine is aged for around 20 months in new French oak barriques followed by additional ageing in large oak casks and bottle, allowing it to develop depth and ageing potential. Presented in an impressive 600cl (6-litre imperial bottle)—equivalent to eight standard bottles—this large collector’s format is prized for celebrations and long-term cellaring because bigger bottles often age more slowly and preserve the wine’s balance and complexity over time.
