Tayēr Bergamot Margarita
Tayēr's Bergamot Margarita arrives as a ready-to-serve expression of one of the world's most iconic cocktails - reimagined through the lens of bartenders who understand that premade doesn't mean compromised. This is bright, sharp, and quietly complex in ways that demand attention. The bergamot is the star here - that distinctive citrus that elevates beyond simple orange into something aromatic, sophisticated, and genuinely compelling. Every element serves the whole.
Crafted by the team at Tayēr + Elementary, a London cocktail bar known for precision and creativity, this margarita begins with excellent tequila selected for its character and complexity. Premium triple sec provides structure and crisp citrus, whilst fresh lime juice contributes brightness and tartness. The bergamot is the secret - that distinctive Italian citrus known for its use in Earl Grey tea, bringing aromatic floral notes alongside citrus brightness. The balance is meticulous; nothing overwhelms, everything contributes.
In the glass - whether served on the rocks or up - the margarita presents a pale golden hue that suggests the quality within. The nose is immediately inviting, with bright bergamot citrus, the warm spice of tequila, and subtle herbal undertones. On the palate, the brightness of the bergamot dominates, providing sharp, crisp flavours that evolve as the drink warms. The tequila's character emerges gradually, warm and slightly peppery, whilst the triple sec provides gentle sweetness and structure. The acidity keeps everything refreshing and invigorating. The finish is clean and lingering, with bergamot citrus notes that fade slowly.
How to Serve
Shake well with ice and serve either up in a chilled coupe glass with a salt rim, or over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a bergamot peel or thin lemon wheel.
Food Pairings
Exceptional with Mexican and contemporary cuisine - particularly dishes featuring citrus, chilli, or seafood. Also brilliant with light appetisers, ceviche, and fresh, bright courses.
